Your Audience Lacks History

Posted by Parthiv Shah on Oct 8, 2019 7:15:00 AM

My mentor, Dan Kennedy, taught me to "go deep". While most people forget what they learned yesterday, I "go deep" when Dan Kennedy is speaking. There's a quote he says that I love, he says “I know the mind, like the parachute, is most valuable open." I agree with these words a 100%. You'll always find me in the front row, taking feverish notes, mindmapping what I've learned, and putting it all into action.

Dan talks a lot about super-achievers and what makes them different. They are not distracted; rather, they remain focused on taking the tiny steps and maintaining an accurate routine to achieve their goals.

Today I wanted to share with you something I pulled out of my Dan Kennedy NoBS Inner Circle archive. Would love to know your thoughts on it. Leave me a comment below.

Why You Need a Mentor as Much as Higher Education to Help You Reach New Heights

Posted by Parthiv Shah on Oct 4, 2019 9:29:53 AM

Nowadays, a degree isn’t a guarantee to success. The job market is a battlefield and diplomas are not the only things that matter.

In fact, HuffPost claims that for the first time college graduates are more likely to be unemployed than an average US citizen. Employers are now looking for skills beyond what a college degree can provide.

So, if you want that dream job, you’ll definitely need to add some extra skills to your resume.

One of the best ways you can get ahead of the curve is by finding a mentor. Mentors can help you make sound career decisions and guide you to overcome hurdles on your way to success. And here’s how:

Business Planning for 2020

"You can't really know where you're going unless you know where you've been." -- Maya Angelou

We're in the 4th quarter of 2019. Now is the time to review your 2019 business plan and begin preparation for what you're going to accomplish in 2020.

What is a business plan? It's a written description of your business's future, a document that tells what you plan to do and how you plan to do it. Don't worry - it doesn't have to be long or complex to start. Ryan Deiss is famously known for making one on a napkin.

Building Out Your Customer Journey Map

Posted by Parthiv Shah on Sep 27, 2019 9:07:18 AM

I might be dating myself here, but remember the early days of getting directions online? You'd go to a site like MapQuest, put in your start and end points, and print out 10 pages of turn-by-turn directions. It worked great... until you missed a turn. If you got off the route, you were doomed.

Compare that early technology to the current, GPS-based options, such as Google Maps or Waze. These new tools give you dynamic directions in real-time. It knows where you are, how fast you're going, and where you're headed. It can even warn you of road hazards and find new routes on the fly.

Which type of navigation tool are you using to track your customers' journeys? Are you spitting out a set of directions for them to follow, hoping they won't deviate from the route? Or are you using accurate data to map where they are, where they're headed, and what hazards they need to avoid?

Why Some Or Most Attorneys Seldom Retire

Posted by David J Dunworth on Sep 3, 2019 5:47:00 AM

We received calls from four different attorneys from disparate parts of the country this past month. Actually, one attorney was from British Columbia, Canada. It boiled down to the inability to expect retirement as a reality.

Each in their own way, they told me that they were looking forward. You know, forecasting. And, they realized that although they wanted to retire someday, not one of them thought retirement was unlikely. They wouldn’t be able to accumulate the required wealth they need to do so.  Two were in their third decade of practice, one aged 39, and one just starting out.  They were all small practice attorneys.

Posted by David J Dunworth on Aug 29, 2019 9:23:32 AM

Call it whatever you want; 3D Mail, Direct Mail, Stand-Out Mail, tactile mail, whatever.  Mail that stands out in the mailbox and triggers an immediate response to pay attention to it is still king of delivery in my mind.
