When to Prepare for Black Friday - Part 4

Welcome back to another entry of our continuing week-by-week glance at preparing for a Black Friday promotion.

 

We've discussed picking your promo, targeting your audience, and dividing your 'herd' . This week let's talk seduction of your people.

October 25 to November 5: Tease your promotion

More emails are sent on the day before Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday than any other day throughout the year, according to research by Experian Marketing Services.

 

So don’t kid yourself.

It’s going to take more than one singular email for your promotion to stand out from the rest in your herd’s inbox. Use email, text messaging and your social channels to give your herd a heads-up that your amazing promotion is coming next week and they should be watching for it.

 

Using your Keap automation software (What, you DON’T have Keap?!?! Fear not, you can try it out for free HERE), you could suggest to the herd that they join an early notification list to receive earlier access to your Black Friday promotion.

 

By clicking a link, Keap automatically tags them to receive the emails.

 

Similarly, you should also include a link for your herd to indicate they don’t want to hear more about the offer—allowing you to protect the herd’s inboxes from unwanted clutter and your emails from being marked as spam.

 

PRO TIP: Giving your herd the option to “click to opt-out” actually IMPROVES your email deliverability scores with the major email services like Google, Microsoft, Hotmail, and Yahoo. Letting people who aren't a fit for you choose to remove themselves is great.
