I am sure when you saw the title of this article you immediately thought I was talking about email. After all, I am THE technology guy, right?

 

But that is not it..  

 

I am talking about direct mail.

 

I can not say it enough, technology makes so many things so much easier...but it is NOT the end all and be all of marketing.  It is just another tool, and you shouldn’t stop using a set of good tools because other tools came along. 

 

If you know anything about direct mail, you know that getting a 100% open rate is next to impossible.  Heck, getting 100% delivery rate is tricky.

As I said, it is expensive - although there are some tricks you can use to cut the costs without dropping the delivery or open rate.
