Twitter’s Vine Application Could Help Businesses with Marketing

The idea of Twitter might be thought of as a marketer’s dream.  You deliver messages on Twitter in short burst of information.  This has been the goal of commercials for a long time.  It is only natural that people turned to Twitter for marketing purposes.  Now Twitter has added an application called Vine.  This application will allow the Twitter users to send short (6 second) videos in addition to the traditional 140 character text messages.

The idea of being able to send short videos could prove to be an even more powerful tool for marketing executives.  They will have another way of delivering the message.  But the Vine application had a problem that most users did not appreciate.  People were receiving pornographic messages through the application.

Twitter has supposedly fixed this problem by making users confirm that they are over the age of 17.  The age for use used to be over 12.  The change will also allow the users to block people from sending those messages. For marketers this could cause a problem.  If people block the marketing messages they are receiving, they will not get any more.  Businesses will have to find ways to get around this problem to make effective use of the Vine application.

The best way for marketers to continue taking advantage of Twitter, and especially Vine, is to make sure that the content in their messages is something that people will want to see.  They will have to spend a little more time on their marketing efforts to get the results that they want.

There is no doubt that the Vine application will be a great marketing tool for businesses to use. Social media is growing and the addition of video to Twitter is sure to help it expand its reach.  As long as businesses use it the right way, it will be successful.
