New Rules of Marketing with Social Media

When people first started using the internet, they could not be very far from a computer and a phone line. Now they are able to access the internet using tablets and smartphones. These mobile devices are changing the way that people use computers.

It is very common for people to use applications that give them access to their favorite social media network. These provide the user with instant access to whatever they need their phone to do. The social media networks have created apps that allow people to access them while they are on the go. One of the things that businesses love about these apps on the mobile devices is that they are almost always on. That means that the business can send marketing messages to people wherever they are. They can often combine this with GPS technology that allows a business to send a message to someone who is in a specific location. If you receive a Tweet through Twitter advertising a food product as you are in a grocery store, it is not a coincidence.

According to the book “The New Rules of Marketing & PR” businesses are going to have to adjust to the new use of social media networks. They will have to be able to target specific audiences with the right message at the right time. They are going to have to take advantage of the use of video and other tools that the social media networks are adopting. Twitter has announced an application called Vine that allows for 6 second videos to be sent. Instagram allows people to share images.

Businesses can no longer ignore the visual appeal of social media. It is as important as the text that is in a message. It is also a way that the social media will continue to trend towards in the future. Businesses will need to take advantage of these changes.
