Should I go for my Doctorate?

My guide Dr. Stephen Roulac encouraged me to apply for a doctoral program when I explained the concept of "Pixel Estate Portfolio".  After carefully evaluating the concept and its depth, he suggested that this is not a topic for a blog article or a pillar page or even a book. This is going to require few thousand hours of work, deep and diligent work, significant scholastic study, significant literature review, analysis, research and conclusive evidence before I can write a dissertation that would be considered worthy of publication.

Wow! Talk about a 'scope creep'. :-)

What started out as a cool idea is now going to turn in to a lifetime of work. Making a non-trivial time commitment for a working adult is a challenge, and for an entrepreneur seeking a life-work balance it is even harder.

So we have been talking about it, thinking about it and exploring whether or not I should do it. I brought the problem to my Strategic Coach class to examine this, put it on the 'impact filter' and finally decided that we are going to put in the time commitment to do this.

I am writing about this in a blog because I want to document how I feel about it as I am making this commitment to myself, my family, my business, my guide, my prospective college, my clients, my friends and to the universe. I am scared. I don't know if I will be able to pull this off.

I am committing to playing this full out, and I am committing to documenting my journey. I will write what I learn, write what I read, write what I research, write what I conclude and write how I feel about the subject matter, way the world goes about it, what I feel works/sucks, tools of the trade and point out what I like (and why). I will not call out the BS of the world and I will not lock horns with anyone. I will either show someone's work in a positive light or I will hold my opinion to myself and keep it between me and my professors and my clients.

So, here we go. Starting a new chapter in my life on this Sunday night, April 21st 2019 at 9:46PM EST.
